Final Exam study guide

1. Aperture - In optics, an aperture is a hole or an opening through which light travels. More specifically, the aperture of an optical system is the opening that determines the cone angle of a bundle of rays that come to a focus in the image plane
2. Shutter - a mechanical device on a camera that opens and closes to control the time of a photographic exposure
3. Exposure - photograph: a representation of a person or scene in the form of a print or transparent slide; recorded by a camera on light-sensitive material
4. F-stop - One f-stop is a doubling or halving of the light going through the lens to the film, by adjusting the aperture riing. Adjusting the f-setting from f 1.4 to f.2.0 is halving the light that goes through the lens.
5. Single lens reflex - A single-lens reflex (SLR) camera is a camera that uses a semi-automatic moving mirror system which permits the photographer to sometimes see exactly what will be captured by the film or digital imaging system, as opposed to pre-SLR cameras where the view through the viewfinder could be ...
6. Negative - a piece of photographic film showing an image with light and shade or colors reversed
7. Positive - a film showing a photographic image whose tones correspond to those of the original subject
8. Contact sheet - A contact print is a photographic image produced from a film, usually a negative, occasionally from a film positive.
9. Agitation - the act of agitating something; causing it to move around (usually vigorously)
10. Enlarger - photographic equipment consisting of an optical projector used to enlarge a photograph
11. Stop bath - an acid bath used to stop the action of a developer
12. Fixer - fixing agent: a chemical compound that sets or fixes something (as a dye or a photographic image) 13. Safe light - Safelight is a light source suitable for use in a photographic darkroom. It provides illumination without the wavelengths of the light spectrum to which the material in use is sensitive. A safelight usually consists of an ordinary lightbulb in a housing with a coloured filter. ...
14. Burning - combustion: a process in which a substance reacts with oxygen to give heat and light
15. Dodging. - avoidance: deliberately avoiding; keeping away from or preventing from happening

Abandoned Theme Parks

1.) I would want to visit the Prehistoric Forest, Irish Hills, Michigan. This place seems it would be pretty cool to see what the park was like and see what interesting photos could snap of the run down dinosaurs statues. There could be some good dinosaurs in position to catch a interesting photos. I picked this place because when i was little i loved dinosaurs so it be pretty cool to go check out a abandoned theme park of them.

2.

3.) Abandoned hotels, Hidden waterfall, Abandoned playgrounds, Abandoned hospital, and Abandoned factory

3. Firstly I need to say that those places I listed below are not very unusual. I can't think of any really unusual place, people have been to everywhere, they've taken photos of everything. So these places are just interesting to shoot:
1.North Pole
2.African poorest regions
3.Abandoned cities
4.Hunted houses
5.National parks in Australia
6.Abandoned schools
7.Abandoned prisons
8.Some islands with uncivilized tribes
9.Ancient Underwater City Alexandria

4.

5. I believe that it would exiting to take photos of  Cleopatra's Palace in Alexandria. It's interesting because this underwater old place has a thousands years history. It's really amazing to visit a place where one of the most famous women in the world history lived!

6.I believe that it would be pretty hard to go and shoot there. First of all, I need to visit Egypt. Also I need to buy an equipment for scuba diving. Buy a camera that can shoot underwater. I don't think that there are any lows that don't permit me to take photos there.
